About this School Project (Grade 4- Shells and Patterns)
Students created observational drawings of a variety of shell shapes placed in a variety of directions on their paper. The shells became the positive space and the areas between and around the shells became the negative space. They traced the shells with thin black sharpie then followed the lines and patterns in the shells with watercolor colored pencils. Once complete they used a brush and water to drag the color into the shells. Lastly the students created a variety of patterns with colored sharpies in the negative space.
