About this School Project (1st & 2nd Grade Pumpkins Turned JACK!)
The students are learning to manage new art materials in conjuction with others they are more familiar with. We are learning about showing the SHAPE of something (in this case our pumpkins) by using CONTOUR LINES. These lines show the SURFACE and TEXTURE of the subject. We also have added SHADOWS and HIGHLIGHTS to add dimension to our pumkins. We then used THICK and THIN lines for various effects along with cutting, gluing, more SHADING, and CURLING our paper to make our pumpkins look more REALISTIC! Just for fun, we added our own EXPRESSIONS to turn our pumpkins into JACK-O-LANTERNS! We hope you enjoy our show!
