About this School Project (Art Material Still Life - 4th-5th)
After studying and reviewing still life examples of artwork throughout history in different mediums, students were then introduced to Jim Dine and his tool studies to inspire these mixed media artworks. To add form and depth, charcoal was added to form a shadow to the art materials. Then to celebrate them with a splash of color, students experimented with different painting techniques including splatter, drip, and adding tiny details to create an artistic effect.
