About this School Project (Overlapping Apples)
Students in Kindergarten, Grades 1 and 2 learned about shapes and what happens when shapes overlap. Students were given a half circle shape to use as a bowl for their apples. A variety of squares were handed to the students and they were shown how to cut the squares into circles. Students arranged the cut circles so that they overlapped to give the appearance of apples being stacked on top of each other; they glued their apples into the bowls. Crayons were used to add details such as the stems on the apples and a background for the bowl of apples.
