About this School Project (Lines that Wiggle)
At the beginning of the year, we read The Dot in art class and used dots in our art. At the end of The Dot, a boy is inspired by Vashti and draws a squiggly line. We wondered what kind of line art he might make and how we could make art with lines.
Kinders read Lines that Wiggle and made their own art out of lines using materials including yarn, straws, and ribbon. We practiced cutting and using the bottle glue. The next class, students learned about brushstrokes and used their brushes to create more lines. Some artists created stories, others created abstract artworks, and each one is different and unique!
