About this School Project (Kindergarten Texture)
Kindergarten artists are learning about texture! Students began this unit by going on a texture hunt outside and collecting many different textures from around the school with crayon rubbings. The next class, we talked about ways artist get ideas, including what they see, what they remember and what they imagine. Kinders thought of an idea they would like to create an artwork about and used texture plates and crayons to show their idea. Students then used watercolors to paint their drawings and learned that the crayon shows through the paint!
