About this School Project (Story Quilt)
Third graders continued learning about the history of utilitarian art, specifically quilt making. They were introduced to contemporary artist Faith Ringgold's work through her book "Tar Beach" and had the opportunity to create their own story quilt, reflecting on a family memory of their own by painting the story and decorating the border with fabric scraps.
