About this School Project (Grade 1- “Senufo” Animal Art)
Students learned about the Senufo tribe on the Ivory Coast in Africa. They are famous for their beautiful animal paintings on cloth. They painted Animals, birds, snakes, frogs, turtles and other images and decorated with patterns and geometric shapes. These people felt that wearing the designs would bring them good luck! The first grade students drew animal forms and filled the insides of the shapes with multiple patterns, colored onside then cut out their animals and glued them onto a background colored paper.
