About this School Project (Jim Dine Art)
We began by preparing our surface for learning about and creating Jim Dine style art. We used watered down glue and tissue paper to cover a tagboard surface to have high texture. This took the entire class period. The next class period we learned about the artist, his works and style, we looked at several examples of his work. We then used black oil pastels to draw Jim Dine style hearts. Then we layered various colors of oil pastels inside and outside of the heart to pick up the texture and finally, we applied a layer of chalk.
