Artist Statement (what Joanna2429 said about their artwork)
-My favorite part of this artwork is the heart where I wrote I love you. My least favorite part is that you can’t see the yellow that I tried to color my heart with.
-The inspiration for creating this piece of artwork was the book Joseph Had a Little Overcoat.
- If I were to create it again I would change the orange paper to white so that I could see my yellow decorations.
- A concept I learned while creating this artwork was how to weave paper.
- What surprised me about this artwork was using paper strips to weave and make a pattern.
- To create this artwork I first cut strips in my sketch book. Then I snipped strips from a magazine. Next I cut strips from a red piece of construction paper. Then I weaved my strips to my cut pieces in my sketch book . Next I created my heart out of an orange piece of construction paper. Finally I taped my heart on top of my weaved pieces of paper.
