About this School Project (1- Paper Collage)
Students took inspiration for this project from Henri Matisse and his abstract paper cut-outs. First we read the book Henri's Scissors by Jeanette Winter and looked at some of Matisse's artwork. Then students created their collage with colored paper squares and shapes cut from black paper. Students learned the difference between Geometric and Organic shapes and were encouraged to create both for their artwork.
