About this School Project (2nd Grade Van Gogh Winter Landscape)
The 2nd grade art classes discussed the famous painting, "The Starry Night" by Vincent Van Gogh. After talking about the sky in the painting, they used blue and violet tempera paints to paint swirls in the skies in their own paintings. They also mixed the blue and violet paint to make a tertiary color: blue violet.
The second step of the project involved "painting" two different shades of green tissue paper on a white paper using a watered-down glue mixture. When the paper was dry, they cut out triangle shapes from the paper to make trees with a unique texture.
They finished their projects by using white paint and a q-tip to make snow.
