About this School Project (Romero Britto Hearts)
Students looked at the lively artworks of Brazilian artist Romero Britto. After identifying the bold lines, designs, and colors, students began designing their hearts. They traced a template to ensure they had a large heart to start with. After using India Ink to trace the heard and add designs, students used bleeding tissue paper and water to create the watercolor effect inside the heart, using warm and cool colors. Finally, they used tempera sticks to fill in their background with bright color.
