About this School Project (After Alma Thomas)
For Black History month, the students watched a short video on Alma Thomas, an African American artist. She worked primarily in large color studies. The students worked in her style and using her shapes, taking care to place the shapes very close but not touching. In this way, the negative space became as important as the shapes.
