About this School Project (1 - Sketch-Folio Covers)
SKETCH-FOLIOS:
Students that have an extra art class or enrichment class with me create a sketch-folio. It is named that because it will become both a sketchbook to create in as well as a portfolio or collection of their work that they have made in their second grade art class. Because I see them twice a year, students are able to create many more art pieces than they normally would have time to make. Any piece of work that is created on a 9"" x 12"" piece of paper (or smaller), will be saved and bound into their sketch-folio book that will then be taken home at the end of the school year.
COVER IMAGES:
These images are a portion of the sketch-portfolio covers that will be saved for assembly. They created these by first drawing images of their choosing around the paper and Sketch-Folio Label. Next, they outlined them with permanent marker and then used bleeding tissue paper to create a unique painted effect.
BACK COVER:
For the back cover of their book, students could draw anything they wanted with the aide of a how to draw book as long as it was draw large and had a background with details. They drew in pencil, outlined it with sharpie and then painted it with tempera cakes.
