About this School Project (Chihuly macchia)
Students looked at the art of famous glass artist Dale Chihuly. After looking at different collections of his artwork, students identified characteristics of his macchia work. Using a coffee filter, students cut an organic shape, drew a rim and details with permanent marker, then colored with marker either warm or cool colors. Students formed them over a water bottle and the teacher sprayed them with spray starch. The filters dried, holding a bowl like shape. Students made two. One was sent home, and one was donated to a collaborative work of art. Photos of that to come!
