About this School Project (2nd Grade Fall Still Life)
Students in 2nd grade practiced drawing from observation.
Students in 2nd grade practiced drawing from observation- drawing what they see and how they see it. Students drew objects from a still life (a grouping of objects that an artist draws or paints), and paid close attention to details. A demonstration was given on how to layer oil pastel to make colors lighter and darker. Students included the following in their work:
-Students chose from pumpkins, squash, and gourds arranged at each table
-Students were asked to pay close attention to the shape and details on their object, selecting colors of oil pastel to match the colors of their object
-Students were asked to fill their background with a color of their choice
