About this School Project (2nd cat tangle)
Cat Tangle
Students draw with me 'simon-says' style. I draw, you draw. Students learn to watch, listen, compare, and complete various patterns. This project has proven to be a good way to begin the school year and increase their drawing skills quickly. The cat motif is tied into the 2nd grades study of Egypt. The pattern making is based on a grid it continues to increase their skills. We use black sharpie pens without any pencil guide lines, we are learning to move the eye and hand together, mistakes happen and so we learn to correct or make do. Color is added with markers as they wish. For presentation, students cut colorful boarders and to paste it onto a 'frame'.
