Artist Statement (what Kiara2830 said about their artwork)
I used pencil to create a lotus flower because it is easier to erase and blend. I chose to draw this picture because I try to challenge myself with shading. I made the flower realistic by figuring out where the light is hitting and putting shade where it isn’t. I would have done the shading differently. I learned that putting different drawing techniques will make the drawing look much better than using one technique. I used short and long strokes on the background and blending on the flower. I struggled with blending properly.
About this School Project (7th Grade Choice Drawing 2019-20 Q1)
Students were able to choose which media to create a drawing of their choice. The students were able to choose which media and what project they wanted. This made them become more invested in the project. They were given the opportunity to create a drawing that was realistic or abstract. Their efforts and learned knowledge really show in their final drawing.
