About this School Project (1st Grade Miró Creatures)
Joan Miró was a Spanish artist who made art in the Abstract style. He would often used shapes and lines to create surrealistic creatures and landscapes. We discussed Miró's painting called "The Garden" to learn about and be inspired by his style.
The first graders began their creatures by brainstorming a list of shapes and different types of lines. They then used this list to make their own Miró-style creatures.
