About this School Project (Kinder Sunrise Pop Art)
We were inspired by Roy Lichtenstein's famous "Sunrise" pop art piece, and we decided to create our own version. First, we learned about pop art and the particular style of Lichtenstein: bold lines and primary colors and "ben day dots" inspired from comic books. We used bubble wrap to create a print of the dots and then used opposite colors to create the land and sky. Then, we used yellow paint to create a sun and rays. We used black India ink to make our bold outlines like Lichtenstein. If we wanted a bolder sun, we could paint it another warm color.
