Artist Statement (what Kaitlin3059 said about their artwork)
The way I drew the hand was first, I raced the outline. Next I measured with my writing hand how long the ent fingers were. I put dots there with my left hand on the paper. Then I did the same for width. Afterwards, I drew in the lines. Then I traced the finished product onto my final draft. Ms Vasquez showed me the shading that I needed to do and finally the hand was done. I chose the Celtic triangle because it is a repeating pattern and I like Celtic things. The k is the first letter of my name. I do dance and tumble, which is why I drew the ballerina, and the girl doing a handstand. I drew a bunny because I have a small obsession with them. The books are because my favorite subject is reading/English because of the reading. I drew a dark skinned beautiful girl to look like my friend Desiree because I miss her. The vine and flower are because I connect with nature. I drew myself meditating because I meditate a lot. The water is because that is my favorite drink and I think of a glass half full. The sun is because I am a sunny person. Finally, the moving van is because moving has been a big thing in my life. Not only my family moving houses, but also Desiree moving to a new state.
