About this School Project (Collaborative Paper Quilt)
Each student will create a paper quilt using a 6x6 white paper base. They will use 2-3 analogous colors, which are colors next to each other on the color wheel. PreK, K and grade 1 will use simple cuts while the older grades use increasingly more complex cutting and arranging. Every student will begin from one large triangle or rectangle in symmetry. The teacher will demonstrate how to make cuts by cutting the paper in half each time to get progressively smaller. They will create the quilt square in one class period, using the adequate time effectively. All will be viewed together in one large paper quilt of the school.
