About this School Project (1st Grade Lilac Paintings)
The first grade art classes looked at photographs of lilacs (they hadn't quite bloomed yet!) and used crayons to draw a lilac branch with leaves. Some used two colors of green to make it look like the sunlight is hitting the leaves. Next they chose two analogous colors from the color wheel to paint a background. Last, they fingerpainted a mix of purple and white tempera paint to make a tint of purple. I think these are quite beautiful--they are meant to give to someone special!
