Artist Statement (what Margaret3708 said about their artwork)
My three types of attachment are: This I call a "Pig Afro Thingy" because I think it looks like a pig and has an Afro. I let my imagination take over, so I am not exactly sure what it is. The 3 attachments I used was popsicle stick through the cardboard filters, brass fasteners, and pipe cleaners.
About this School Project (Attachment Challenge 2019!)
The Attachment Challenge asks all students to engineer a sculpture using 3+ non-glue, non-tape, or non-staple attachments.
These attachments include:
1) brass fasteners: these make sculptures move or allows for a steady hold.
2) pipe cleaners: These can be used in channels of corrugated cardboard, or used to connect hand-drilled bottle caps!
3) Lash: This hold two long pieces together at a perpendicular angle using lashed string or wire.
3) Stitch: Sewing hole-punched cardboard or materials together with string.
4) Tie: Wrapping string or ribbon like you're wrapping a gift.
5) Insert: Inserting anything into a hole that is snug enough to hold it.
6) Notch: Using small V-shaped notches in cardboard to wedge two pieces together.
7) Wedge: cutting something with a notch so it fits into a hole that is the same size or smaller than the item.
