About this School Project (1 - Jim Dine Inspired Hearts)
Students first learned about Pop Artists (artists that paint every day images) and Jim Dine, a famous Pop Artist who's main subject matter is the heart. They learned that Dine uses everything but brushes to create his heart paintings giving them a wild and fun appearance wile making them also striking and beautiful. Students used the inspiration of his work to create their own heart imagery. They first created their own heart tracer, traced hearts in sections of their paper, created designs in oil pastel and then painted using tempera cakes.
