About this School Project (1st Grade Andy Warhol Flowers)
Andy Warhol was a very famous artist from the 1960s through the 1980s. He was known for his style of art called "Pop Art," which was art that uses images that are popular in culture. Andy Warhol created a series of flower paintings in 1964 and 1965. He made these paintings by using a silkscreen of a photograph of flowers.
After learning a little about the artist, the first grade artists used textured paint rollers to mimic the grass on Warhol's flower paintings. They had a blast using the rollers! After the paint was dry they used stencils to draw and cut flowers out of construction paper.
