About this School Project (K - Architectural Paintings)
In this lesson, students learned that Architecture is the process and product of planning, designing, and constructing buildings. While viewing various images of architecture, students were able to identify a variety of architectural shapes such as columns, domes, arches, roofs, etc. Students then traced these shapes on their papers much like they would do if they were building with blocks. They then added additional architectural details like windows, doors, flags, sun, moon, clouds, etc. Lastly, students painted in their drawings with tempera paints.
