About this School Project (Snoopy Christmas)
Students folded a 9x12 sheet of paper in half and then in half again. These fold lines are for reference. They laid their paper sideways and I guided them through the drawing jumping from section to section to frustrate their left brain. If students knew what they were drawing their left brain would tell them they could not do it. This allows the right brain to draw as directed. When finished we turned the paper vertical, they were shocked to see that they had drawn Snoopy on his house decorated for Christmas. Next, we outlined with permanent marker. We highlighted each Christmas light with white crayon and then colored with markers. We colored Snoopy's house with crayon or marker. Finally, we used watercolor colored pencils to add dimension and beauty to the snow drifts, we went over this with water. In some classes, rather than use watercolor pencils, students used watercolor crayons.
