About this School Project (Mexican Tree of Life)
Students learned about the Mexican tree of life which is a large detailed candelabra and a folk art form for centuries. Students drew their own tree of life in the Mexican style on their folders using: 1.) colored pencils to color in 4-6 circles containing at least 3 things about them; 2.) crayons to create a pattern inside the tree whose branches held the circles with one color marker to color over the trunk and branches (wax resist in contrast to the colored pencil); 3.) crayons to add circles, or stars, or raindrops, etc. in the background covered with a contrasting (to crayon and marker used on the tree) color marker
