About this School Project (Kindergarten Line Paintings)
Students in Kindergarten are exploring the Elements of Art. We are beginning our exploration with Line.
A Line:
-Is open
-Has a beginning and an end
-Is a dot that goes on a walk
-Has many different types (zig zag, wavy, thick, thin, etc.)
Students were then asked to identify different types of line before using line in their own work. Students included the following in their work:
-5 or more different types of line
-Each different line was painted using black acrylic
-Tempera wash was added in the space between lines
*Students made more than one painting, and added color to at least one painting
Students predicted what would happen when tempera wash was added to the oil pastel lines. The lines "pushed away" the paint!
