About this School Project (K - Mouse Paint)
To begin this project, students were read the book "Mouse Paint" by Ellen Stoll Walsh. They learned that the primary colors (red, yellow, and blue) can be mixed together to make secondary colors (orange, green, and purple) as well as any color in the rainbow. They also learned that the primary colors are the only colors that cannot be made by mixing together other colors. Students then drew a mouse using basic lines and shapes and practiced mixing the primary colors together to create secondary colors in the background.
