Artist Statement (what Alexis29134 said about their artwork)
1. In my work I used several different elements of art and principles design in it. I used lines to draw the outline of the shoes and used color when I watercolor painted them. The background adds texture because it is made out of layered pieces of newspaper.
2. I chose to place the shoes the way that I did, because I didn't want to overlap the shoes or make them too small, so that's why they are that size. I chose the angles because I thought it was more interesting to place them that way and it kind of draws your attention to the center as they point to center. The angles make the shoes appear as if they are floating and the laces are suspended in air. The larger shoe at the top draws attention away from the other shoes. The bright warm colored shoe also draws attention to itself, because of the difference in he colors.
3. I learned a lot from this piece. I learned patience because it took a while to glues on the newspaper. I learned that I probably shouldn't have made the gaps between laces and shoes so small because gluing small pieces of newspaper are very hard.
