About this School Project (Kandi-Apples in the style of Wassily Kandinsky)
1st and 2nd Graders learned about Wassily Kandinsky, a Russian Artist. He's most well-known for being one of the first abstract artists. We looked at a few of his famous pieces, including his Squares with Concentric Circles and then used that idea to create our own Kandi-Apples. We talked about using markers on their sides to color larger spaces and students were working hard to cover all the white spots on the paper. The students chose whether they wanted to put their concentric circles on the interior of their apple, or on the exterior. Don't the apples look delicious?
