About this School Project (Eating Apples)
In this lesson students looked at examples of several different kinds of apples. We drew one large apple together to create a tracer. One apple was traced to show the whole uneaten apple. Then a "bite" was cut out of the tracer and it was traced a second time. A second "bite" was cut from the other side of the tracer and was traced a third time. This shows the apple being eaten. We learned to mix and blend oil pastel together to create realistic colors for the apple skin and flesh. Students chose either a reddish or a greenish apple to try and recreate. Rubbing plates and crayon were used to make wallpaper in the background. Watercolor was used to complete this lesson.
