About this School Project (1st Grade Kandinsky Scribbles)
The first grade artists learned about the famous Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky. Kandinsky was the first artist to paint in the abstract style; he thought that paintings didn't need a particular subject. He thought that the arrangement of shapes and colors could be art.
We began these abstract drawings by drawing a "slow scribble" with a crayon. Then they colored in the spaces with color and patterns.
