About this School Project (Monet Landscape)
Students completed a teacher directed, Step by Step Monet Landscape lesson, after viewing a variety of Monet Art and watching a short video on Monet's life.
Students began by making a horizontal line on the paper with pencil.
Students then used a sponge and a series of "pushes" to apply yellow Acrylic paint to the horizon line, and also the "Meadow" below it.
Students then used the same sponge and (teacher added green paint on top of yellow paint on students' paint plates) applied green Acrylic paint on top of the yellow paint on the horizon line, "Meadow," and also to create green bushes, and an arbor above the horizon line.
Students then (teacher added blue Acrylic paint on top of paint on students' paint plates) used their sponges to add a blue "shadow" on one side of the bushes, and the arbor.
Students then used the wooden end of a brush to dip into, and "push" Acrylic paint (Teacher gave students a different paint palette with red, orange, yellow, blue, and purple paint) onto the meadow to resemble flowers.
Next, students used light blue Acrylic paint and a paint brush to create a pond. Then, students finished off the pond with water lilies (Acrylic paint: white, yellow & pink).
Students used the corner of a sponge (& a brush) to create a "stone path," using brown and white Acrylic paint.
Students used a sponge (& white Acrylic paint) to create a white fence.
Finally, students painted the sky (using blue & white Acrylic paint).
