About this School Project (2nd Grade Complex Pattern Fish (Mrs. Jackson))
For this piece we were working on the learning objective; I can identify and create a complex pattern. We began by looking at simple patterns and how they differ from complex patterns. We determined that complex patterns have more details than simple patterns. We then started with a simple pattern and added more details to make a complex pattern. Then a large colored paper was chosen and we cut a fish body shape out. We used our scrap to add a top and bottom fin. Tempera cakes were used to paint three complex patterns filling our fish. Finally we used white scrap paper and black permanent marker to create and cut out an eye and teeth for our fish. This is a new project and I love how they turned out. I found this project on
