Artist Statement (what Haya110 said about their artwork)
I chose to feature a synthesizer in my artwork because I love them. Many artists use these to make their music and songs. In my piece, I manipulated my drawing multiple times and arranged certain parts in different places, with the bigger pictures surrounding the smaller, complete one(s). I used exciting and friendly colors and purposefully painted streaks off the synthesizer itself, which makes it look like music is emitting from it.
About this School Project (Paint in Pop)
Students learned about the movement of American Pop Art. They then choose to draw something form their everyday life, scanned it into a digital file, and imported their work to a software manipulation program. They were to add variation to the image by learning how to crop and change the scale of their new pieces. These new images were then printed and the seventh graders painted with watercolor. Final images were then arranged on the board for display.
