Artist Statement (what Lauren23193 said about their artwork)
I morphed myself into a picture of my mother in college. I chose this because I love my mother and this picture looks very similar to her. I used shading to create a shadow under the nose and to make the lips darker. I also added layers of necklaces and a light blue shirt.
About this School Project (Self-Morphtrait)
We remixed our self-portrait unit this year by having students morph themselves into a new character - superhero, comic book legend, animal, greek myth... anything goes! We studied facial proportions and how things are measured in relationship to each other and placed on the face to draw more realistically. Then, we used color pencils to add amazing and creative details. This may be the most fun portrait project we've ever done!
