About this School Project (Pumpkins with Lines)
Second graders review parts of the picture plain, foreground, and background and are introduced to the middle ground. They also learn about techniques artists use to create the illusion of space on a 2D surface: size, placement, and overlapping.
Drawings are done in pencil with pumpkin lines outlined in liquid glue. Sharpie is added after the glue dried and then watercolors are applied.
