About this School Project (3rd: Name Monsters)

3rd grade artists created an abstract shape out of their name. To make the shape, we started by folding a large piece of paper in half, writing our name on the fold & then cut around the tops of the letters. When we opened our paper, we saw that it was abstract, symmetrical and we also noticed how the different ways that we wrote our names made different shapes.
We analyzed our shape and used our imagination to create a monster. Some of our monsters are silly, some are funny. We added texture to our monster's bodies and colored them with bright, vibrant colors.
