About this School Project (Oil Pastel Owls)
Kindergarten students tried oil pastels for the first time. We talked about how oil pastels are a resist for paint - especially watercolor. Students used liquid watercolor to paint over their drawings and were delighted to see their lines show through! Some students added horns to their owls while some did not. Some students added stars and moons and other details. We talked about how owls have very sharp talons and ears hiding under the feathers. There are many different kinds of owls.
