About this School Project (1st: Matisse Collage)
1st grade Artists learned about the artist, Henri Matisse. They learned that he is most well known for his large cut paper "drawings" and how Henri was known as the artist who "draws with scissors". Students drew their own organic shapes with scissors out of black and white paper. They glued their shapes down to a background they created out of colorful squares and rectangles.
