About this School Project (Kindergarten: My Jack-O-Lantern: Print-making)
Learning Targets:I can use my printing and painting skills to create a funny Jack-O-Lantern that shows texture.
I can create a Jack-O-Lantern that has a personality by cutting specific shapes that show the facial expression I want.
I can name my finished Jack-O-Lantern and also make up a short story about it.
I can use my painting skills to paint a stone wall for my Jack-O-Lantern with others.
The students rolled and printed a variety of oranges on the surface of watercolor paper. They cut a pumpkin shape out of this. For the stem, they drew streaks with oil pastels and then watercolored over that to give it a textured look. Lastly, they cut shapes from black paper to create facial expressions and to turn the pumpkins into Jack-O-Lanterns.
