About this School Project (Monument Sculpture)
For the lesson, students learned that monuments show history and educate the public. I decided to pick the moon landing to be our inspiration for a whimsical monument. Before we began sculpting, we reviewed types of lines and brainstormed what our sculpture would become. Then we rolled clay into spheres to be the "moon" and made craters using our thumbs. We created lines with pipe cleaners and pushed them into the clay, then we used beads and pom poms for added flair.
