About this School Project (W is for Wild Things!)
It was “W” week in kindergarten. We read the book Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. It was a Caldecott winner in 1963! We learned what the word “mischief” means. We gnashed our terrible teeth and rolled our terrible eyes and roared our terrible roars. We listened to “Wild Thing” by Kermit and identified a ukulele, flute, and drums. We looked at the shapes, colors, and textures of the wild things. Our paper already had the rolling eyes! We just had to draw our own wild things with oil pastels and color slick sticks. They were messy!
