About this School Project (3rd: Radial Design)
The third grade artists learned a lot about the elements and principles of art during this lesson. They used the elements of shape, line, and color. The principles of art they used were balance (radial symmetry), variety, and emphasis. Students emphasized the center of their radial designs by gluing a button on. The artists were to used either cool colors or warm colors to color in the radial symmetry using crayons, and the opposite to watercolor, creating a wax resist.
