About this School Project (First Grade Texture Trees)
First grade learned about real and implied texture and how artists use texture in their work. We focused on a close up of bark on a tree and tried to create our own using thick paint. The students used a stippling motion with their brush to create a rough texture. After that, we used leaf stamps to create some contrast in bright fall colors. They were able to experience texture in a variety of ways and create their own in the process.
