Artist Statement (what Katya212 said about their artwork)
We get so caught up in the material side of life, that we forget who we initially are. My drawing could be interpreted in numerous ways, though my chief intention was to symbolize the on-going cycle of life and the vulnerability of humans in general. The scorpion represents frustration and anger, it sucks out our time, thus connecting its tail to the skull-death. We’re all a skull within and a gorgeous body on the surface. The rose and tears speak of our sensitive loving manner and our oh- so vulnerable side. We’re all inbred sinners and saints, it is just a matter of perspective and what we choose to focus on more intensely. We are not one or the other, we are all of it whether we know it or not.
